The Society meets at three monthly intervals at locations across Northern Ireland.

The objectives of the Society are:

• To provide and maintain an archive for the purposes of historical research

• To maintain an archive of artefacts to be made available to bona fide groups or individuals on a loan basis

• To provide lectures and presentations

• To promote affiliation with other like minded societies

The Society publishes a quarterly newsletter, Despatches, for its members. The newsletter contains articles about the activities of the Society, facts about the Regiment, and stories about, and interviews with, some of the personalities who served in its ranks.
